Educator Grants

Educator Grants help District 181 teachers and administrators put their great ideas into action. They encourage innovation and creativity in the classroom and provide individual teachers the opportunity to try out new ideas without risking tax dollars.

Support Educator Grants

all teachers and administrators are encouraged to apply for an Educator Grant

Characteristics of a Successful Grant: 

  • It funds an educational opportunity/tool that is currently not available in District 181 and will be a pilot for other educators to learn from.  

AND/OR 

  • It provides a resource that will be available and immediately used in multiple schools throughout the District.  

 ​Maximum Award:  

  • $5000 for grants that impact multiple schools and support the current year strategic goals
  • $2500 for grants that are pilots for one school and support the current year strategic goals
  • $2000 for grants that impact multiple schools, but do not support current year strategic goals
  • $1000 for grant that are pilots at one school, but do not support current year strategic goals  


Getting Started

Application Deadline: Grant proposals are accepted throughout the year.   


Application Instructions: 

1. Download and review the detailed grant guidelines, available below.


2. Tell us about your idea by submitting a short note using the Letter of Inquiry Form that appears after the guidelines.   


3. After receiving your letter of inquiry, a Foundation representative will confer with you and provide advice for filling out the application.  


3. The link to the online application will be forwarded once the Letter of Inquiry has been approved. It may be filled out and submitted anytime during the year.


4. Funding for a grant is usually available 2-3 weeks after the grant application is approved.
